Navy is the New Black (and Happy New Year!)

Throwback to a less-than-practical winter ensemble

From the deepest Southern India I bring you a rather unpractical winter ensemble. I recall being completely freezing as we took these photos in Northern England on a December afternoon, something that seems rather preposterous given where I am sitting as I type this. Navy is surely this winter's new black, and a kilt with some smart boots are a sturdy couple we have been taught from our school uniform days. Add a trusty side ponytail and you're out the door

Surprisingly, perhaps for you and definitely for me, I look forward to wrapping up for winter again: the jumpers, the beanies, the scarves, the boots... Every season has its advantages. But for now, I'm off to take some photos for future posts in a floaty summer dress or two.

As for the turn of a New Year, I am always weirdly unexcited. My family and I spent our evening overlooking the beach, eating tremendous seafood and celebrating with tourists and Indians alike as the clock struck twelve (to the soundtrack of Sean Kingston on repeat?!) Here are a couple of snaps:
