My stay at Radisson Blu Shanghai

Shangai tourist

What are you looking for when you search for a hotel in Shanghai? Second-to-none location, opulent luxury, delish food and everything you could possibly require just a phone call away... Perhaps a Nespresso machine within your room? That's what Radisson Blu Business Class offers you.

One of my favourite things about the Radisson is that you are in a prime Shanghai location (just off East Nanjing Road) yet you have everything on-site (a well-equipped gym, an indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, a spa, even conference rooms). Another guest we chatted to while we were there described the Radisson as ‘his cruiseship’, because you can be sitting high above the city and escape the frenzy in the streets below. While, of course, enjoying the view.

Unlike some hotels where an upgrade to Business Class may seem like throwing money down the drain, the upgrade at the Radisson (something I was fortunate enough to experience) has very visible advantages. I’m talking different lifts, newspapers at your door, a Nespresso machine in the room (after a few months in China this. was. heaven), the local paper at your door, a turn-down service, not to mention a separate study in your room for any work you may have to do during your stay. Then there’s the Business Class lounge… super peaceful, on the 32nd floor, where you would enjoy complimentary breakfast, coffee and cookies all day, and canapés with drinks in the evening. Treated like royalty.

Our three days at the hotel were spent at a really slow pace enjoying our room, the food at the hotel (a review on the restaurant, Epicure 45, is coming soon: for now I’ll just say ‘revolving restaurant on the 45th floor'), and an extremely relaxing spa… Jenna had a Chinese massage, I had the best facial I’ve ever had. The setting was pure class and elegance, and we had our treatments in the same room which was a very nice touch. The best thing, as I mentioned above, is how close and convenient everything is. We just jumped in the lift and we were at the spa. Perfect.

Thank you to Radisson Blu and Club Carlson for a very luxurious few days. Those searching for luxury travel in Shanghai, I think I've found what you're looking for.
