I can't bring myself to fully take on the 70's trend, much as I try it still screams 'fancy dress' to me. In the right dose? Absolutely. In fact, I’ve never been about being engulfed by the latest trend (this time the 70's) but rather merging pieces into my overall style that I know works for me. Because we all know the number one rule is to dress for you, right? In my case that means classic lines, retracting attention from the stomach area and keeping my colour palette squeaky clean.

Enough of me, these culottes are undeniably the star of this party… love the shape, love the colour, love the stitching, plus the suede seriously feels like butter against the skin (that’s a good thing). I styled them here with a few flats (nearly always on #TeamFlats) to show a few options. I have a feeling suede will be a new favourite for me, from the one-piece that slipped from my fingers in Thailand (nothing haunts you like the things you didn't buy), this delicious jacket or a must-have button down skirt that I've spotted at Mango or H&M

P.S. first photos after the chop... completely love my new hair, it feels so healthy and it's so easy to manage! Watch this space for chop number II...
