Week in Pictures: Shanghai 2

The second instalment of Shanghai in Pictures! (Catch the first one here). Most of these photos are taken from a weekend trip to a smaller city called Suzhou 苏州, in nearby Zhejiang province. Many Chinese cities have a 'historic old street' 老街, much like this one in Suzhou. Commercial and charming in equal parts, it definitely breaks up the overwhelm that Shanghai can sometimes impose. It's only 30 minutes from Shanghai by train, so if you have the time I would recommend seeing another smaller city while in Shanghai.

This was the week that my love for Bubble Tea really took off; shops selling cheap soft drinks to be sipped on as you go about your day are ubiquitous in China. Every street will have a couple, from famous chains like Coco or Happy Lemon to little holes in the wall. Every demographic seems to drink them all day long, and you too will get sucked in eventually!
